Good gif editor/any gif importer plugins for photoshop

Well, I've come here to ask anyone if there is a good .gif editor, or more preferably a .gif importer for photoshop. The only reason I'm asking is because sometimes I come across an animed .gif and there isn't a sprite sheet, but I want to change for my own personal desire. However the only way that I've found was to open it up in flash and then export each frame as a seperate picture. This way sucks because it takes forever, and it lowers the qualitity of the picture. Also I didn't really know where to make this thread, so if its in the wrong section I aplogize in advance.

The only thing that comes to mind is GIF Movie Gear. You can download the trial version from here.

It's a very simple program designed for animating sprites, but it can also be used to extract the frames for making sprite sheets. Just do the same thing you do in Flash. The only difference is it doesn't reduce image quality.

i use game maker 7's sprite maker(just because im used to it. its pretty easy tou use but you have to download game maker.
